Next Steps

Jesus Christ is the first step on your faith journey. Entering into a relationship with Him enables you to take your next steps with God. There’s a book that contains an incredible story of love and forgiveness, and the good news is, it was written just for you. In this book, God tells us how much He desperately wants to us to know Him, and it lays out 3 clear points:

First, the Bible tells us that mankind has a problem, and this problem is sin. 
As Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Since each one of us has this problem, what can we do about it?

Second, the good news is that God provided a solution. 1 John 4:9 tells us “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.” He loved us so much that He gave us the gift of His Son Jesus to die for us, and take the place of our sin. So what do we do with this gift?

Third, the Bible demands a decision. It’s not enough to just know about God and His story of love. You must choose to put your trust in Christ, to receive this free gift of salvation that God offers. When we accept this gift, we come into His perfect love of acceptance and forgiveness. 

John 1:12 says, “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” You can do this by praying a simple prayer, telling God you know you are a sinner who needs forgiveness, and you are ready to accept His son Jesus as your personal savior. There is no need to worry that God did not hear you. His word promises us that “everyone who calls on the name of Lord will be saved”.

If you prayed this prayer of repentance, you are now His child! If you have made that decision God wants to have a relationship with you, which means it is a real, interactive thing.

Here are some things you can do to grow in your relationship with God:

Tell someone about your decision. Talk to a pastor or trusted friend who shares this new faith, so they can encourage you in your walk. Would you like to talk to a LifePointe Pastor? CLICK HERE.

Pray. The way believers talk to God is through prayer.Your prayer should be from your heart to His. Don’t worry about saying the exact right words. God wants to know what’s on your heart. Read God’s Word. There are countless truths to live by found in this book, and in its pages you will find many promises of hope and joy written just for you. Don’t feel you have to tackle the whole Bible at once.There are many versions that are written in easy to understand language. Visit a local bookstore and find one that you feel comfortable with.  Baptism is a public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ. We call it “going public” at LifePointe. It’s the next step after your salvation. Once you make a decision for Christ, we encourage you to take that next step of faith and follow in believer’s baptism. The water itself is not special, but a demonstration that you no longer are your old self; you have been buried, and now resurrected in Christ and walk in His power, purpose and love. People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked? Baptism is a requirement for membership at LifePointe Fellowship. When is the next baptism service? We offer 9 chances each year for you to become water baptized.

 Getting commited as a member atLifePointe lets you know who we are, what we believe, where we’re going, and how you can be a part of it.  Curious about LifePointe Fellowship? Want to be a part of the family? Then join us at a membership class.

This class explains the purpose and mission of LifePointe Fellowship, answers any of your questions, and enables you to meet and talk with church members and staff. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to join the church. For your convenience, classes are offered on a regular basis. Sign-up at the information booth in the lobby on Sunday or by using one of the links below. This class is a requirement for LifePointe Fellowship church membership.

Every single week, our volunteers give their time and skills to serve others. Greeting, ushering,operating media equipment — you fit in somewhere. Who are volunteers? LifePointe volunteers are members of the church who work together to serve our church body and others in the community to advance the Kingdom for Jesus.

How do I volunteer at LifePointe? Become a member of the church (see the Commit section for Membership information), check out the volunteer teams below and complete a Volunteer application so we can know a little bit more about you. GUEST SERVICES

Guest Services teams believe that first impressions make a huge impact. These teams are made up of individuals who love creating welcoming environments for every guest at LifePointe. DISCIPLESHIP

KIDSPOINTE

Our Children’s Ministry volunteers are people with a passion to see children experience Jesus on their level. Volunteers serve kids, birth through fifth grade, in safe, age–appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. There are many opportunities to serve on Sundays. ELEVATE
